Environmental Impact Statement for Harmony Road from Oregon State Highway 224 to SE 82nd Avenue

Project Description

In this project, proposed design and alignment alternatives are being evaluated for the Harmony Road corridor between Highway 224 and SE 84th Avenue, approximately 1.5 miles.  Alternatives for Harmony Road, the Sunnybrook Boulevard extension, and the intersection located at Harmony Road/Linwood Avenue/Railroad Avenue are being developed.  The project also includes consideration of grade separation of the road and the Union Pacific rail line to the southwest of the Harmony Road/Linwood Avenue/Railroad Avenue intersection.  The range of alignment and design alternatives will be developed as part of the environmental review process.

The project is seeking to:

  • reduce congestion and improve safety;

  • remove potential conflicts with the railroad and other transportation modes, and facilitate future high-speed rail and rail freight mobility;

  • minimize neighborhood and environmental impacts; and,

  • improve multi-modal access from local neighborhoods and the City of Milwaukie to the Clackamas Regional Center.
