Introduction
Public involvement plays a vital role
in each step of this project. There are numerous
opportunities for the public, agency and group
representatives, and others to learn about the project and
provide input. This includes Open House meetings, Project Advisory Committee meetings, the project's website,
newsletters, flyers, the comment hotline, and other forums and methods. We want to hear from you!
Open Houses
Open Houses are planned to give the
public a continuing opportunity to learn about this project
and provide input. Three Open Houses have been held
since the project's inception in the fall of 2006.
These are described in more detail below.

Open House #3 (November 2007) |
Project Advisory Committee (PAC)
The Project Advisory Committee is
comprised of technical experts, neighborhood and group
representatives, and local citizens. The PAC is
responsible for reviewing and providing feedback on the
project, sharing information between the people they
represent and the other PAC members, and making
recommendations to Clackamas County. The public
is welcome to observe and, during the public comment period,
provide comments at all Project Advisory Committee (PAC)
Meetings.
The PAC has been meeting since the
project's inception in the fall of 2006. Links to
previous PAC meetings are included below.

On
Wednesday, July 9, 2008, Clackamas County will
host the fourth
Open House for the Harmony Road Area Transportation
Improvements Project. The Open House will be held at the
auditorium in Clackamas County's
Sunnybrook Service Center (9101 SE Sunnybrook Blvd.,
Clackamas, Oregon) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This Open
House / Public Forum will give all interested parties an
opportunity to learn more about the Harmony Road
Project, ask questions of technical staff and express
their views to Clackamas County Commission Chair Lynn
Peterson and Milwaukie City Councilor Deborah Barnes.
(Both Commissioner Peterson and Councilor Barnes are on
the Harmony Road Policy Review Committee (PRC), which is
charged with recommending next steps in the project to
the Clackamas County Commission and Milwaukie City
Council.)
Everyone who is interested in expressing their views to
Lynn and/or Deborah will have up to three minutes to
speak individually to the elected officials at this
meeting, and all comments will be recorded. Commissioner
Peterson and Councilor Barnes will also be accepting
written comments at the July 9 meeting and online and
through the mail until July 16. All verbal and written
comments will become part of the project record and will
be considered by the PRC as it considers next steps.

The meeting
will be held at the auditorium in Clackamas County's
Sunnybrook Service Center (9101 SE Sunnybrook Blvd.,
Clackamas, Oregon) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This will be a meeting for the PRC members to discuss,
confer and, as they choose, make decisions; it will not
be an opportunity for public comment. The public, of
course, will be welcome to observe.
